Did I forget to mention...
Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 10:55PM
That I'm having a boy? Well, yeah. I am.
So, there's that. :)
I also have a post over at MOVIEGRENADE! today. I reviewed Seven Pounds in real time, it's all very avante guard as far as movie reviews are concerned. I think we all know how that review is going to turn out. But, come on, click the link and let's dance.
If you really loved me, you would at the very least go over there for a minute so I seem popular to the guys who started the site.
Also, the esteemed Golf Widow has given me an award. Something about throwing darts and Italian... mmm, lasagna sounds so good, right now.
Wait. What was I talking about?
Ah, yes, this.

Given that I just gave out an award yesterday, I'll refrain from passing this along just yet.
P.S.
Dear Golf Widow,
I know I'm supposed to name 15 people to give this award to, but I'm too tired to go to my feedreader right now. I'm sorry. Does it make it better if I say I feel really pregnant today? And that my husband is screaming, "I thought today is your day off from the Internet!" as I type this?
Regardless, I love this award, so I'm not giving it back.
Thanks,
Faiqa

You know what a good name for a boy is?
Adam.
C'mon, you know you want to.
Congratulations, Faiqa! I just found out I'm having a girl! When are you due?
Since Avitable started it, I'll suggest Anakin for a good boy's name.
Also? Enjoy... from 6 months of first hand experience, there are a lot of differences already between boys and girls, even past the peeing without a diaper on thing (which is totally true, and don't let the marketing fool you: peepee teepees are useless unless your kid has a bladder the size of a shotglass).
A boy!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
Knowing you will be raising a boy also gives me hope for the future. :)
Tariq, Jr?!!
And congrats on the award!
Go be pregnant and relax, now.
Mashallah! I bet it will be fascinating to observe the differences between Nuha and your new little one ! :)
I got my award a week ago and didn't do a thing with it till yesterday, so I wouldn't sweat the whole "feeling pregnant" thing.
Congratulations!
I cannot go read the review because I have not seen Seven Pounds yet. Actually, maybe I can because I'm not even sure what the movie is about or anything so I doubt that it matters whether I read the review or not.
You are totally naming the boy after me, right? Hold on...let's see...crap! Adam already used that joke. Dammit!
Yay, a boy! I am so excited for you! Okay, let me calm down, geez...I act like *I* am the one having the baby. ;)
A boy? Cool! Do you have colors or a theme? Can you e-mail me a shipping address? I want to get you a little something, OK?
I can't read the award... but I'm sure you deserved it.
A boy awesome !!!! Congrats to both of you
For the love of mustard, don't name your child Adam. Florida isn't big enough for two Adams. :)
CONGRATS on boydom! Woo hoo!
A boy! Congratulations!
Now I will go read your movie review.
Yay! You can't use "Dustin," okay (Because that one is going to be used in about 3 months)?
@Avitable: Snort. Yeah. Like you aren't arrogant enough.
@Nikki: August 2nd... my first is a girl, they are so much fun!!
@SciFi Dad: Both you and MTM have me totally psyched about having a boy, anyway!!
@Sybil Law: Helllsyeah!! He's going to be a feminist *and* open doors for women and not let them pump gas or take out the trash because it's a guy's job. Breaking all the rules. :)
@nancy: Like a sociology experiment... :)
@golfwidow: Whew, I thought you were going to take the award away like they did with Miss America back in the 80s (?).
@Sheila (Charm School Reject): I don't give anything away... go read it!
@B.E. Earl: Umm, I don't know... B.E. is kind of a weird name... says the woman named Faiqa.
@Hilly: Awww, your excitement makes my heart feel happy.
@Finn: A theme? Umm, how about... I'm exhausted. How's that for a theme?! I'll e-mail you my address, but I'd much rather you come visit me and take a whole bunch of photos of us... hint, hint. :)
@Ayesha: Thanks-- you can give me lots of tips!
@Coal Miner's Granddaughter: You have a great point there. Plus, I think he's graduate to being completely unbearable if I did that.
@Jason: Thanks so much, you'll have to give me some advice on that front (you have a son, too, right?) & hope you like the review!
@RebTurtle: Oh, wow!! Congratulations to you!! I don't think Dustin is an Arabic name, so... you're safe. :)
Come on. Dustin? "Dusty?" Isn't there an Arabic name resembling dirt?! :p
Congrats!! Boys are fun... :)
It's nothing major; I promise. But pictures I can do too! I'd love to.
congrats on the upcomming boy-hood...
yaknow, "slyde" is a fine name for a tot... just sayin..
oh faiqa, i am thrilled that you are having a boy! can't wait to meet him! i'm over here wiggling and squeeeing and just being all around happy. that little boy is so blessed to have you and tariq as parents.
so i think i need to come down and babysit sometime. n. is such a baby doll and i know your son is going to be precious.
congratulations to you and tariq!
i forgot to also say congrats on the award. bad, bad becky!
gotta run...off to read your review...
Mubarak! As a mother of 4, I can tell you the most difficult transition in my life was going from 1 child to 2 with almost a 3 year gap in between. With the first you are just so over prepared; you think you got it figured out -- motherhood, feeding, tears, sleep schedules, toilet training, being a family-etc. But the surprise of figuring out how to fit a new human into your routine is a whole new adventure. But this much I know, once you juggle 2 babies, you can have a handful more because it just gets better!
May I also suggest a name? Mustafa-- besides the fact that our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was referred to by this name meaning 'the chosen one', I think it goes really nicely with your daughter's name --say them together and they sound really sweet together.
Hope we get to meet soon!
@RebTurtle:According to a baby name site I just visited, Dustin means "Warrior" (as well as "a dusty place." We *do* have a name on the list that means warrior, so there's THAT. :)
@Robin: Thanks, I hope so!! I've spent my whole life picking on them and berating them, so this should be a nice change of pace.
@Finn: OK, I'll send you the address in a few.
@Slyde: Slyde isn't your real name. Is it?!!
@hello haha narf: Thanks, and I would let you babysit any time EXCEPT that would mean that I would have to leave you at my house and go somewhere else... and that is not happening because if you're in town... where YOU are is where I want to be. (Hey, that's from a song.)
@Saima: Thanks for the name to add to the list. Moving on, please feel free to pass forward the secret that has kept you looking like a child bride instead of a mother of four. Pronto. Thanks. :)
Yay! Boys are fun and psychotic! I know this from first hand experience!! And, they are big time "mama" lovers. I'm so excited for you.
And congrats on your award! I'll have to make my way over there to read it :)
Have I said congrats yet?
I mean, it's a pretty big deal and I don't think I've ever taken the time to give you my heartfelt congratulations on such a momentous occasion. As common as the occurrence may be in life in general (it happens to many people across the world) it still is quite special when it does happen. Some people go their entire life without it happening to them and just have to sit on the sidelines as their brothers, sisters or friends go through the miraculous event. An unspoken bond is created between those of us who have experienced it, and a knowledgeable smile crawls across the mouths when seeing someone else going through what we've already gone through.
Such as it is with a golfwidow award.
So, you're having a kid, eh? Neat.
