For some reason, I thought Diwali occurred over several days.
You're right, it does. Today is the first day.
NO, no, I'm sorry, it's the third day...Diwali is the third day. I think there are 2 days of worship that proceed it. Darnit, Adam, go read the link. :)
Happy Diwali! I'm jealous you get to celebrate so many cool holidays!! :)
If appropriate, Happy Diwali to you as well.
... "two days of worship that precede it." Not "proceed" it. I'm hopeless today.
@ Tami: Thanks! Actually, Diwali is a Hindu celebration, so I don't technically celebrate it since I'm Muslim. Plus, you have Easter and Christmas AND you get the day off for them, so I have a lot to be envious of, as well. :) Still, since I have friends who do celebrate Diwali, I get to go to parties and eat their awesome food. Multiculturalism has its benefits.
@ B.E. Earl: Now that I think about it, wishes of happiness are always appropriate. Thanks.
Happy Diwali to you too..and Eid Mubarak.
I kind of like Diwali. They have a big celebration outdoors in the main park where I live but it is much bigger in Leicester and Coventry.
Christmas is more or less ruined here in England by commercialism.
I looked at some of your other posts. They are interesting I will come again.
Thanks james, I look forward to seeing you around. :)
What a lovely holiday!
I'm jealous of your party and food rounds. Then again, I am starving...
oh how pretty.
A prosperous new year to you as well!
@Sybil We had a good time, the food was aaaawesome.
@Crys There were a lot of diwali photos on Flickr, but I like this one for its simplicity
@RW: Thank you Mr. Mac User Smarty Pants. ;)
